Downloading and setting up
2003-12-15 Download problems
If you've had problems downloading the zip, then try again. I have uploaded a
fresh copy which should be fine. Sorry for any inconvenience. DNH.
The files
Click here to download a zip-archive (18KB) containing the
following:
- Boldfinger.exe (36KB: the actual program)
- Licence.txt (3KB: the Licence Agreement for
using the software)
- ReadMe.txt (2KB: some information for anyone who missed these
web pages)
Requirements
Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0 Windows 2000 and Windows XP. I'd
assume it's OK for Windows ME, too.
Setting up BoldFinger
- Unzip the archive and read the licence agreement
before proceeding.
- Create a folder for the BoldFinger.exe file somewhere
on your machine.
- Copy the program into that folder.
- Create a shortcut to the program and place it in your
startup folder on the start menu.
- That's it!
Using BoldFinger
- BoldFinger will load itself at startup.
- It has an icon in the system tray, so you can stop it
if you wish.
- If you actually do want to use Caps Lock, then toggle
it by holding down the ALT key while pressing the Caps Lock key.
- The program keeps track of how many times you have accidentally pressed the key. To see
this number, just move the mouse cursor over the BoldFinger icon.
Redistribution
Generally, you are free to redistribute the zip archive
among your friends, but redistribution is dealt with fully in the Licence Agreement
. You are not allowed to
redistribute anything except the whole zip file, because we don't want people to get the
program without the documentation and licence agreement.
Support and feedback
We would be glad to hear of any problems which are experienced in setting up the
software or using it, but we cannot undertake to fix them.
Lots of visitors have downloaded the zip, and a few have sent us euphoric
congratulatory emails. It makes us feel noble and grand, so don't hesitate to do
the same.
